In a statement released to the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) on Wednesday 17th April 2019, the Abia State-based brewer said its attention has been drawn to several unauthorized recent online publications on commencement of full operations by the company.

The full statement is as follows:

“The attention of Golden Guinea Breweries Plc has been drawn to several unauthorised recent online publications on the commencement of full operations of the company”.

“The company stands on the disclosure and publication issued to the public via the issuer’s portal on resuming operations before the end of the second quarter of 2019”.

“We have not resumed operations and, therefore, any contrary and mischievous online publication is hereby disclaimed”.

Golden Guinea was established by the Premier of the defunct Eastern Region, Dr. Michael Okpara which was shut down after years of operation in 2003, following fire outbreak that engulfed the company’s building during the administration of Orji Uzor Kalu. Efforts were on top gear to revive the facility during the administration of the immediate past governor now Senator representing Abia Central.
