Pensioners verified by the Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate (PTAD) are already expressing worries over the delay in getting their pension benefits, investigations have confirmed.

Two of the pensioners who were verified in the fourth quarter of 2017, told this medium that some of their colleagues have died awaiting the outcome of the verifications, while others are unable to carter for their health challenges.

They called on PTAD to urgently keep to the promises made to them during the verification. PTAD in its Twitter handle stated that the accurate computation of pension benefits for Civil Service Pensioners verified in the South West & North Central in Q4 2017 is currently being processed.

It assured the pensioners that it is working tirelessly to ensure they receive what is rightly due to them.
“The computation of the pension benefits of PTAD verified pensioners is ongoing and payments are made upon completion. Over 19,500 verified civil service pensioners have been enrolled. More verified pensioners will be enrolled shortly.

“To date over 19,500 Verified pensioners from the North West, South East, North East, South-South have been reinstated and paid their arrears. Some of these pensioners were wrongly removed from the payroll prior to the establishment of PTAD,” it said.
