Stock market sheds N227bn, down by 0.34%

It was a bearish session on the floor of the Nigerian stock market on Monday as investors’ wealth dropped by N227 billion.

The All Share Index was down by 0.34% to close at 108,126.97 points from the previous close of 108,947.40 points.

The Market Capitalisation declined by 0.34% to close at N67.387 trillion from the previous close of N67.614 trillion, thereby shedding N227 billion.

An aggregate of 358 million units of shares were traded in 15,914 deals, valued at N9.2 billion.

The Market Breadth closed negative as 17 equities emerged as gainers against 37 equities that declined in their share prices.

Percentage Gainers

Ikeja Hotel led other gainers with 10.00% growth to close at N12.10 from the previous close of N11.00

UHOMREIT and PZ among other gainers also grew their share prices by 9.97% and 9.26% respectively.

Percentage Losers

Northern Nigeria Flourmills Plc led other price decliners as it shed 9.99% of its share price to close at N72.55 from the previous close of N80.50.

EUNISELL, Sovereign Trust Insurance and Secure Electronic Technology among other price decliners also shed their share prices by 9.96%, 9.09% and 7.46% respectively.

Volume Drivers

Jaiz Bank traded about 48 million units of its shares in 372 deals, valued at N162 million.

Zenith Bank traded about 28 million units of its shares in 807 deals, valued at N1.4 billion.

GTCO traded about 18 million units of its shares in 426 deals, valued at N1 billion.
