Stock market rebounds with 0.45% growth, investors gain N96bn

The Nigerian stock market Tuesday closed on a bullish note as the All Share Index appreciated by 0.45% to close at 40,896.96 points from the previous close of 40,714 points.

Investors gained N96 billion as the Market Capitalisation grew by 0.45% to close at N21.311 trillion from the previous close of N21.215 trillion.

An aggregate of 563.88 million units of shares were traded in 4,253 deals, valued at N5.096 billion.

The Market Breadth closed firm as 27 equities emerged as gainers against 13 equities that declined in their share prices.

Percentage Gainers

Champion Breweries led other gainers with 10% growth to close at N2.53 from the previous close of N2.30.

Cornerstone Insurance and FBNH among other gainers also grew their share prices by 9.80% and 9.79% respectively.

Percentage Losers

Consolidated Hallmark Insurance led other price decliners as it sheds 6.78% of its share price to close at N0.55 from the previous close of N0.59.

Japaul Gold and NEM Insurance among other price decliners also shed their share prices by 6.25% and 3.81% respectively.

Volume Drivers

FBNH traded about 317.28 million units of its shares in 616 deals, valued at N3.29 billion.

Champion Breweries traded about 49.91 million units of its shares in 28 deals, valued at N126.29 million.

Ecobank traded about 38.05 million units of its shares in 224 deals, valued at N269.2 million.
