Stock market rebounds by 0.06%, investors gain N11bn

The Nigerian stock market on Thursday closed on a positive note as the All Share Index appreciated by 0.06% to close at 38,874.13 points from the previous close of 38,852.69 points.

Investors gained N11 billion as the Market Capitalisation grew by 0.05% to close at N20.254 trillion from the previous close N20.243 trillion.

An aggregate of 125.8 million units of shares were traded in 2,990 deals, valued at N1.266 billion.

The Market Breadth closed positive as 16 equities appreciated in their share prices against 12 equities that declined in their share prices.

Percentage Gainers

NAHCO led other gainers with 10% growth, closing at N3.52 from the previous close of N3.2.

Phamadeko, Veritas Kapita and Cornerstone Insurance among other gainers also grew their share prices by 9.55%, 9.52% and 9.43% respectively.

Percentage Losers

Sovereign Trust Insurance led other price decliners as it shed 4.17% of its share price, closing at N0.23 from the previous close of N0.24.

UDPC and Ecobank among other price decliners also shed their share prices by 3.68% and 2.83% respectively.

Volume Drivers

Mutual Benefit Assurance traded about 13.72 million units of its shares in 19 deals, valued at N4.11 million.

UCAP traded about 11.46 million units of its shares in 165 deals valued at N97.61 million.

GTCO traded about 9.95 million units of its shares in 234 deals, valued at N270.93 million.
