It was yet another bearish session on the floor of the Nigerian stock market on Thursday as down trend extends to three straight sessions admits profit taking.
The All Share Index dropped by 0.69% to close at 52,411.09 points from the previous close of 52,775.40 points.
The Market Capitalisation was down by 0.69% to close at N28.255 trillion from the previous close of N28.452 trillion, thereby growing N197 billion.
An aggregate of 211.6 million units of shares were traded in 4,750 deals, valued at N2.365 billion.
The Market Breadth closed negative as 12 equities emerged as gainers against 22 equities that declined in their share prices.
Percentage Gainers
LINKAGE ASSURANCE led other gainers with 9.80% growth to close at N0.56 from the previous close of 0.51.
COURTVILLE, JAPAUL GOLD and CHAMS Plc among other gainers also grew their share prices by 8.00%, 6.90% and 4.17% respectively.
Percentage Losers
CONOIL led other price decliners as it shed 10.00% of its share price to close at N28.80from the previous close of N32.00.
BUAFOODS, ETRANZACT INTERNATIONAL Plc and CWG among other price decliners also shed their share prices by over 9.00%.
Volume Drivers
Sterling Bank traded about 63 million units of its shares in 204 deals, valued at about N97 million.
Zenith Bank traded about 17 million units of its shares in 581 deals, valued at N382.6 million.
UBA traded about 17 million units of its shares in 230 deals, valued at N131.9 million.
