Stock market dips by 0.08% amidst profit taking

The Nigerian stock market on Tuesday closed on a bearish note as the All Share Index declined by 0.08% to close at 38,873.85 points from the previous close of 38,906.42 points.

The Market Capitalisation declined by 0.08% to close at N20.254 trillion from the previous close of N20.271 trillion, thereby shedding N17 billion.

An aggregate of 184.44 million units of shares were traded in 3,809 deals, valued at N2.34 billion.

The Market Breadth closed positive as 16 equities appreciated in their share prices against 13 equities that declined in their share prices.

Percentage Gainers

MRS led other gainers with 9.75% growth, closing at N15.2 from the previous close of N13.85.

Veritas Kapita and Regency Assurance among other gainers also grew their share prices by 9.52% and 6.82% respectively.

Percentage Losers

Neimeth led other price decliners as it shed 7.89% of its share price, closing at N1.75 from the previous close of N1.90.

Chams and Japaul Gold among other price decliners also shed their share prices by 4.35% and 4.08% respectively.

Volume Drivers

UBA traded about 38.99 million units of its shares in 233 deals, valued at N297.64 million.

GTCO traded about 19.04 million units of its shares in 253 deals valued at N517.86 million.

Zenith Bank traded about 14.2 million units of its shares in 506 deals, valued at N326.52 million.
