Stock market closes lower by 0.05%, sheds N12bn

Transactions on the floor of the Nigerian Exchange on Monday closed on a negative note as the All Share Index declined by 0.05% to close at 43,230.34 points from the previous close of 43,253.01 points.

The Market Capitalisation declined by 0.05% to close at N22.560 trillion from the previous close of N22.572 trillion, thereby shedding N12 billion.

An aggregate of 293.43 million units of shares were traded in 4,239 deals, valued at N4.289 billion.

The Market Breadth closed positive as 20 equities emerged as gainers against 14 equities that declined in their share prices.

Percentage Gainers

Cutix Plc led other gainers with 9.89% growth, closing at N3 from the previous close of N2.73.

Livestock Feeds and Mutual Benefits Assurance among other gainers also grew there share prices by 9.50% and 7.41% respectively.

Percentage Losers

Veritas Kapital led other price decliners as it sheds 8.70% of its share price to close at N0.21 from the previous close of N0.23.

FTN Cocoa and Royal Exchange among other price decliners also shed their share prices by 6.82% and 5.66% respectively.

Volume Drivers

FBNH traded about 101.22 million units of its shares in 569 deals, valued at N1.24 billion.

Access Bank traded about 44.17 million units of its shares in 344 deals, valued at N416.97 million.

FCMB traded about 34.85 million units of its shares in 31 deals, valued at N108 million.
