Stock market closes by 0.20%, sheds N45bn

The Nigerian stock market on Friday closed on a bearish note as the All Share Index declined by 0.20% to close at 43,199.27 points from the previous close of 43,285.97 points.

The Market Capitalisation declined by 0.20% to close at N22.544 trillion from the previous close of N22.589 trillion, thereby shedding N45 billion.

An aggregate of 199.52 million units of shares were traded in 3,917 deals, valued at N3.256 billion.

The Market Breadth closed negative as 16 equities emerged as gainers against 23 equities that declined in their share prices.

Percentage Gainers

Unity Bank led other gainers with 10% growth, closing at N0.55 from the previous close of N0.50.

Regency Assurance and Vitafoam among other gainers also grew there share prices by 5.41% and 4.78% respectively.

Percentage Losers

Eternal Plc led other price decliners as it shed 9.03% of its share price to close at N6.65 from the previous close of N7.31.

NGX Group and LASACO among other price decliners also shed 8.86% and 7.08% of their share prices respectively.

Volume Drivers

GTCO traded about 49.93 million units of its shares in 704 deals, valued at N1.265 billion.

FBNH traded about 18.41 million units of its shares in 173 deals, valued at N208.68 million.

Access Bank traded about 17.49 million units of its shares in 219 deals, valued at N155.99 million.
