NSEASI grows 0.80% as Penny stocks dominate gainers’ chart , Monday

Penny stocks dominated the trading floor on Monday as the market capitalisation hits 11.852 trillion, its highest in the last three months.

The Nigerian equities market rallied for the seventh consecutive sessions as the All Share Index grew by 0.80% to close at 31,781.87 points from 31,529.92 points it closed on Friday.

Market Capitalisation closed the day by adding N94 billion to arrive at N11.852 trillion above N11.758 trillion recorded on Friday, implying 0.80% growth.

Other market indicators closed red as the Aggregate volume and value declined by 23.79% and 53.73%, settling at 551 million units and N5.6 billion respectively.

Market Breadth

Market breadth closed positive  with 41 gainers against 10 losers.

Percentage Gainers

LASACO, Cadbury and Oando with 10% growth each tops the percentage gainers’ chart.

TRANSCORP, MCNICHOLS, Beta Glass, grew 9.77%, 9.76 and 9.55% of their share prices ahead of other 35 stocks that closed green.

Percentage Losers

C & I Leasing led other percentage losers, shedding 8.96% of its share price to close at N8.14 form the previous close of N9.04.

Medview Airline, Total and Union Diagnostic shed 8.11%, 7.20% and 6.90% of their share prices respectively.

Volume Drivers

Access traded about 101 million units of its shares valued at N700 million in 326 deals

UBA traded about 69 million units of its shares in 463 deals, valued at N547 million
