Nigerian Bourse maintains downward trend, closes 0.06% lower, Thursday

Dangote Cement closed the day’s trading the same price its opened, despite N16.6 billion worth of transaction in its stock, thereby dragging among other factors the All Share Index further down by 0.06% to close at 26,583.75 points as against the previous close of 62,598.94 points of Wednesday.

The market capitalisation declined also by 0.05% to close at N12.941 trillion as below the previous close of N12.948 trillion, shedding N7 billion

Aggregate volume of traded stocks dipped by 38.54%, standing at 363 million units at the close of trading today while the value soared by 157% to close at N19 billion.

Market Breadth

The market breadth closed negative as 8 stocks gained against 15 stocks that lost.

Percentage Gainers

Learn Africa with 9.82% growth tops the gainers’ chart for the second consecutive times in the week, closing at N1.23 above the previous close of N1.12.

Livestock, UCAP, ABC Transport and Wema Bank made it to the green table also ahead of other stocks on the chart.

Percentage Losers

WAPIC tops the losers chart, shedding 8.57% of its share price to close at N0.32 from N0.35

Linkage Assurance, Custodian and Honeywell Flour Mills shed 7.84%, 5.83% and 5.00% respectively.

Volume Drivers

Dangote Cement traded about 114 million units of its shares in 131 deals, valued at about N16 billion
