NSEASI extends decline, closes 0.11% lower, Wednesday

The Nigerian Bourse on Wednesday closed in red as the All Share Index declined further by 0.11% to close at 31,145.34 points against the previous close of 31,178.71 points on Tuesday.

Market capitalisation declined by 0.11 % to close at N11.614 trillion from the previous close of N11.627 trillion, thereby shedding N13 billion.

Volume of traded stocks declined by 30.59% to close at 249.54 million units; while value of traded stocks appreciated by 63.25% to close at N3.12 billion

Market Breadth

Market breadth closed positive as 23 stocks gained while 19 stocks declined.

Percentage Gainers

Cornerstone Insurance and Mutual Benefit Assurance with 10.00% growth led other percentage gainers to close at N0.22 respectively.

ABC Transport, Linkage Assurance, Beta Glass, Royal Exchange and Union Diagnostics grew 9.68%, 8.93%, 7.82%, 7.41% and 7.14 % of their share prices among other stocks on the gainers list.

Percentage Losers

Newrest ASL Nigeria Plc (AIRSERVICE) tops the losers’ chart, shedding 9.79% of their share prices to close at N6.45 from the previous close of N7.15.

LASACO and MCNICHOLS among other price decliners also shed 9.38% and 9.09% respectively.

Volume Drivers

  • Zenith Bank traded about 56.37 million units of its shares in 270 deals, valued at N1.296 billion
  • Access Bank traded about 36.19 million units of its shares in 300 deals, valued at N218million.
  • Sterling Bank traded about 32.3 million units of its shares in 988 deals, valued at N75.55million.
