NSEASI dips further as it closes lower by 0.58%, Wednesday

The Nigerian equities market on Wednesday closed on a negative note as the All Share Index dropped further by 0.58% to close at 26,223.66 points from the previous close of 26,375.35 points on Tuesday.

Market Capitalisation closed at N12.766 trillion, shedding N73 billion from the previous close of N12.839 trillion.

Aggregate volume of traded stocks closed at 232.2 million units, valued at N3.1 billion in 3,171 deals.

 

Market Breadth

The Market Breadth closed negative as 10 stocks gained while 12 stocks declined in their share prices.

 

Percentage Gainers

Cornerstone Insurance led 9 other gainers with 8.89% growth to close at N0.49 from the previous close of N0.45. This is followed by Law Union & Rock Insurance with 8.70%, closing at N0.50 from the previous close of N0.46.

 

Percentage Losers

Presco, International Breweries and MCNICHOLS among other price decliners, shed their share prices by 9.90%, 9.69% and 8.70% respectively.

 

Volume Drivers

  • UBA traded about 59 million units of its shares in 211 deals, valued at N371 million.
  • Access Bank traded about 45.6 million units of its shares in 304 deals, valued at N378 million.
  • Zenith Bank traded about 26.46 million units of its shares in 426 deals, valued at N459 million.
