Equity market advances with N98bn gain

The Nigerian equity market on Monday extends its bullish trend as the All Share Index grew further by 0.72% to settle at 26,507.84 points from the previous close of 26,319.34 points.

Investors gain N98 billion as Market Capitalisation appreciated by 0.72% to close at N13.853 trillion from the previous close of N13.755 trillion.

An aggregate of 336.83 million units of shares were traded in 4,602 deals, valued at N4.03 billion.

Market Breadth

The market breadth closed positive as 19 stocks gained while 8 stocks declined in their share prices.

Percentage Gainers

Oando Plc led other percentage gainers with 9.85% growth, closing at N2.23 from the previous close of N2.03.

AIICO Insurance, Consolidated Hallmark Insurance and International Breweries among other gainers also grew their share prices by 9.72%, 8.82% and 8.33% respectively.

Percentage Losers

UACN Property led other price decliners as it sheds 10% of its share price to close at N0.90 from the previous close of N1.00.

Caverton and May & Baker among other price decliners also shed their share prices by 6.52% and 5.54% respectively.

Volume Drivers

  • Zenith Bank Plc traded about 35.95 million units of its shares in 425 deals, valued at N624.28 million.
  • UBA traded about 31.21 million units of its shares in 263 deals, valued at N191 million.
  • Transcorp traded about 11.49 million units of its shares in 50 deals, valued at N6.66 million.
