NSEASI declines, closes 2.37% lower, Wednesday

The Nigerian Bourse on Wednesday declines from the previous trading session as the All Share Index settled at 32,403.60 points in contrast to 33,191.45 points of the last trading session, implying 2.37% drop.

Market capitalisation also dropped by 2.37% to settle at N11.830 trillion against N12.117 trillion recorded on Tuesday, indicating a loss of N287 billion.

Volume of traded stocks grew by 105.71% and the value of traded stocks fell by 0.75% to close at 380 million units and N2.3 billion respectively.

 

Market Breadth

17 stocks closed positive against 16 that closed negative, bringing the market breadth to a positive round off.

Percentage Gainers

Diamond Bank led other percentage gainers’ chart, gaining 9.45% of its share price above the previous close of N1.27 to settle at N1.39

LAWUNION and Niger Insurance grew 7.69% each, while WAPIC gained 7.32% ahead of other stocks on the gainers’ chart

Percentage Losers

MCNICHOLS tops the losers’ chart losing 10.00% of its share price; while Trans Nationwide Express, Red Star and Dangote Cement shed 8.45%, 7.61% and 6.76% respectively.

Volume Drivers

FCMB traded the highest volume of about 142 million units of its shares in 342 deals, valued at about N222 million.

Access Bank traded about 90 million units of its shares in 109 deals, worth about N726 million.
