Nigerian Bourse sheds N75bn, closes lower by 0.58%

Trading activities on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange on Tuesday declined further as the All Share Index dipped by 0.58% to close at 24,883.70 points against the previous close of 25,027.61 points on Monday.

Market Capitalisation dropped by 0.57% to close at N12.891 trillion against the previous close of N13.056 trillion, shedding N75 billion.

Aggregate volume and value of traded stocks settled at 206.6 million units and N2.5 billion in 3,925 deals.

Market Breadth

Market Breadth closed perfectly balance as 17 stocks gained against 17 stocks that lost at the end of the day’s trading.

 

Percentage Gainers

Cadbury led other gainers with 6.82% growth to close at N7.05 from the previous close of N6.60

Other gainers include: Nigerian Breweries, Mutual Benefits, ARDOVA and LASACO, all gaining above 4.00% of their share prices ahead of other stocks in the green table.

 

Percentage Losers

Prestige Assurance tops the price decliners’ list, shedding 10.00% of their share price to close the day at N0.45 from N0.50.

Trailing on the red table are; Ikeja Hotel, Consolidated Hallmark Insurance, shedding 9.82%, 9.97% and 9.76% respectively, ahead of other price decliners.

 

Volume Drivers

Access Bank traded about 29 million units of its shares in 198 deals, valued at about N191.6 million.

Guaranty traded about 25 million units of its shares in 330 deals, valued at about N625.5 million.
