NSE lifts trading suspension on R.T Briscoe shares

The Nigerian Stock Exchange on Wednesday lifted the suspension it placed on trading in the shares of R.T Briscoe Nigeria Plc.

The NSE said it placed a suspension on the shares of R.T Briscoe and 10 other companies for failing to file their financial statements.

In a statement signed by the Head, Listings Regulation Department, NSE, Godstime Iwenekhai, the NSE said R.T Briscoe had submitted its outstanding audited and interim financial statements to the Exchange.

The statement read in part, “Rule 3.3 of the Default Filing Rules states that the suspension of trading in the issuer’s securities shall be lifted upon submission of the relevant accounts, provided the Exchange is satisfied that the accounts comply with all applicable rules.

“The Exchange shall thereafter also announce through the medium by which the public and the Securities and Exchange Commission was initially notified of the suspension.”

Iwenekhai said in view of the submission of the company’s accounts and pursuant to Rule 3.3 of the Default Filing Rules, the general public was hereby notified that the suspension placed in the trading of the R.T Briscoe shares had been lifted with effect from September 18, 2019.
