Nigerian Market Sheds N16bn Capitalisation with positive breadth, Tuesday

The Nigerian stock market on Tuesday declined, as the All Share Index closed 0.13% lower to settle at 26,660.44 points against the previous close of 26,695.18 points on Monday.

The market capitalisation closed at N12.868 trillion, shedding N16 billion from the previous close of N12.884 trillion

Aggregate volume closed at 331.9 million units, valued at N4.7 billion in 3,358 deals.

Market Breadth

The market breadth closed positive as 17 stocks gained against 12 that declined in their share prices.

Percentage Gainers

CHAMS Plc with 10.00% growth led other gainers to close at N0.33 from the previous close of N0.30.

GUINNESS, AG Leventis and PRESCO ahead other gainers grew their share prices by 9.88%, 9.52% and 9.20% respectively.

Percentage Losers

UPDC Real Estate, Unity Bank and Cornerstone Insurance top the losers’ chart shedding their share prices by 8.99%, 7.14% and 6.67% respectively.

Volume Drivers

Access Bank traded about 106 million units of its shares in 312 deals, valued at about N1 billion.
