Nigerian Stock market gains N58bn, closes 0.53% higher, Thursday

Trading activities on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange on Thursday closed in green as the All Share Index grew further by 0.53% to close at 29,347.62 points from the previous close of 29,193.42 points on Wednesday.

The Market Capitalisation grew by 0.53% to close at N11.023 trillion from the previous close of N10.965 trillion, thereby gaining N58 billion.

Aggregate volume and value of traded stocks closed at 224 million units and N2.01 billion in 3,127 deals.

Market Breadth

The Market Breadth closed positive as 15 stocks gained while 7 stocks lost.

Percentage Gainers

NEM Insurance and Niger Insurance with 10% growth both led other gainers to close at N2.00 and N0.22 respectively.

Fidelity Bank, UCAP and FBNH among others on the gainers’ list also grew their share prices by 8.70%. 6.54% and 6.12% respectively.

Percentage Losers

Ikeja Hotels, ABC Transport and Eternal Oil among other price decliners shed 9.76%, 8.33% and 8.05% of their share prices respectively

Volume Driver

  • Zenith Bank traded about 45.4 million units of its shares in 481 deals, valued at N927.7 million.
