The Nigerian Bourse opened the month of May on a positive note, extending gains from the previous session as the All Share Index rose 0.09 percent to close at 41,306.02 points on Wednesday.
As a result, investors gained about N13billion as market capitalisation advanced to N14.962 trillion.
Although volume of traded stocks declined by 38.68%, value appreciated by 38.95% settling at 276.2 million units and N6.9 billion respectively
Market Breadth
23 stocks closed positive against 15 that lost, bringing the market breadth to a positive round up.
Percentage Gainers
Mobil led other percentage gainers closing 9.55% above the previous close of N174.8 to settle at N191.5.
Wema Bank grew 9.52% and C&I Leasing grew 9.21% ahead other stocks like Unity Bank, Courtville, NPF Microfinance Bank and FCMB.
Percentage Losers
Dangote Flour tops the losers’ chart losing 9.40% of its share price, while Cadbury and Prestige both shed 4.71% and 3.92% respectively.
The most actively traded stocks of the day is Zenith Bank trading 30.07million units of its shares in 381 deals, worth about N832.4million.
