Nigerian Bourse grows marginally, up by 0.06%

The Nigerian stock market on Friday closed marginally higher as the All Share Index grew by 0.06% to settle at 53,201.38 points from the previous close of 53,170.73 points on Thursday.

Market capitalization grew by 0.06% to close at N28.681 trillion from the previous close of N28.665 trillion, adding 16 billion.

An aggregate of 273 million units of shares were traded in 4,584 deals, valued at N2.8646 billion.

Market Breadth

The market breadth closed negative as 14 equities appreciated in their share prices against 17 equities that declined in their share prices.

Percentage Gainers

FIDSON led other gainers with 9.59% growth to close at N12.00 from Thursday’s close of and N10.95.

FTN COCOA, COURTVILLE and JAIZ BANK among other gainers also grew their share prices by 9.09%, 8.51% and 7.78% respectively.

Percentage Losers

Industrial & Medical Gases Nigeria Plc led price decliners chart as it shed 16.82% of its share price to close at N9.15 from the previous close of N11.00.

MRS, THE INITIATES PLC and LEARNAFRICA among other also shed their share prices by 9.76%, 9.09% and 4.00% respectively.

Volume Drivers

TRANSCORP traded about 103 million units of its shares in 277 deals, valued at about N144 million.

GTCO traded 17.9 million units of its shares in 516 deals, worth N393.9 million.

FBNH traded about 15.7 million units of its shares in 243 deals, valued at about 160.8 million.
