Nigerian equities market dips further, closes 0.03% lower

The Nigerian Bourse on Friday closed in red as the All Share Index dropped marginally by 0.03% to close at 26,348.73 points from the previous close of 26,357.24 points on Thursday.

Market Capitalisation closed at N12.826 trillion, shedding N5 billion from the previous close of N12.831 trillion on Thursday.

Aggregate volume of traded stocks closed at 371 million units, valued at N2.5 billion in 2,736 deals.

Market Breadth

The market breadth closed negative as 12 stocks gained while 14 stocks declined in their share prices.

Percentage Gainers

UAC Properties led the gainers’ list with 8.08% growth, closing at N1.07 from the previous close of N0.99.

Sterling Bank and Union Diagnostics among other gainers also grew their share prices by 4.86% and 4.55% respectively.

Percentage Losers

Guinness, C&I Leasing, Custodian Investment and Forte Oil among other price decliners shed their share prices by 9.83%, 9.59%, 9.17% and 8.81% respectively.

Volume Drivers

Zenith Bank traded about 74.49 million units of its shares in 449 deals, valued at N1.27 billion.
