Nigerian Bourse soars by 2.14% as market capitilisation hits N12tn, Tuesday

The Nigerian Stock Exchange recorded another green session on Tuesday as the All Share Index grew by 2.14% to close at 32,462.31 points from the previous close of 31,781.87 points on Monday.

Market Capitalisation closed at N12.106 trillion, gaining N254 billion from the previous close of   N11.852 trillion.

Volume and value of traded stocks grew by 5.23% and 42.18% to close at 580.4 million units and N8.03 billion respectively.

Market Breadth

Market breadth closed positive with 38 gainers against 14 losers.

Percentage Gainers

Jaiz Bank, Livestock Feeds, Dangote Flour and NPF Microfinance Bank with 10% growth each tops the percentage gainers’ chart.

Champions Breweries, Union Bank and Wema Bank grew 9.88%, 9.60% and 9.21% respectively of their share prices among other gainers.

Percentage Losers

Regency Alliance led other percentage losers, shedding 8.00% of its share price to close at N0.23 from the previous close of N0.25

UAC Properties and LASACO among other price decliners shed 8.75% and 6.06% respectively.

Volume Drivers

  • Diamond Bank traded about 125.8 million units of its shares in 186 deals valued at N304.4 million
  • Zenith Bank traded about 63.2 million units of its shares in 754 deals, valued at N1.58 billion
  • Guaranty Trust Bank traded about 57.13 million units of its shares in 413 deals, valued at N2.23 billion
