Nigerian Bourse sheds N74bn, closes 0.65% lower

 

Trading activities on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange on Monday closed in red as the All Share Index dropped by 0.65% closing at 26,681.31 points against the previous close of 26,855.52 points last week Friday.

Market Capitalisation closed at N12.888 trillion, shedding N74 billion, from the previous close of N12.962 trillion.

Aggregate value of traded stocks closed at 192.68 million units, valued at N3.55 billion in 3,594 deals.

 

MARKET BREADTH

The market breadth closed negative as only 5 stocks gained while 28 stocks declined in their share prices.

PERCENTAGE GAINERS

Only five stocks emerged on the gainers list with Axa Mansard leading with 9.09% to close at N1.8 from the previous close N1.65.

Others on the gainer’s list are Cornerstone Insurance (7.94%), Eterna Oil (7.14%), NPF Microfinance Bank (3.60%) and Fidelity Bank (0.99%)

PERCENTAGE LOSERS

Berger Paints, C&I Leasing and Niger Insurance among other price decliners shed their share prices by 10%, 9.24% and 9.09% respectively.

 

VOLUME DRIVERS

Zenith Bank traded about 24.2 million units of its shares in 348 deals, valued at N450 million.
