Nigerian Bourse dips further, closes 0.39% lower

The Nigerian equities market on Friday closed on a negative note as the All Share Index fell further by 0.39% to close at 27,146.57 points against the previous close of 27,252.09 points on Thursday.

Market capitalisation closed at N13.207 trillion, shedding N51 billion from the previous close of N13.258 trillion on Thursday.

Aggregate volume of traded stocks closed at 311.26 million units, valued at N6.4 billion in 3,192 deals.

Market Breadth

The market breadth closed negative as 16 stocks gained while 18 stocks declined in their share prices.

Percentage Gainers

UACN with 10% growth led the gainers’ list to close at N6.05 from the previous close of N5.50.

NPF Microfinance Bank, ABC Transport and Cornerstone Insurance among others also grew their share prices by 9.73%, 9.37% and 8.00% respectively.

Percentage Losers

Neimeth Plc led the price decliners list, shedding 10% of its share price to close at N0.45 from the previous close of N0.50.

Glaxosmith and Ecobank Transnational Incorporated (ETI) among other price decliners also shed 9.49%, and 7.14% of their share prices respectively.

 

Volume Drivers

  • Guaranty Trust Bank traded about 129.26 million units of its shares in 214 deals, valued at N3.4 billion
