Nigerian Bourse sheds N45bn, closes lower by 0.35%

Trading activities on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange on Wednesday closed on in red as the All Share Index dropped by 0.35% to close at 26,790.10 points against the previous close of 26,883.33 points on Tuesday.

The market capitalisation closed at N12.930 trillion, shedding N45 billion from the previous close of N12.975 trillion.

Aggregate volume of traded stocks closed at 189.86 million units, valued at N1.48 billion in 3,410 deals.

 

Market Breadth

The market breadth closed negative as 19 stocks gained while 26 stocks declined in their share prices.

Percentage Gainers

AG Leventis and Livestock Feeds led other gainers with 10% growth to close at N0.33 and N0.55 respectively.

Neimeth, Wapic Insurance and Cutix Plc among other gainers also grew their share prices by 8.96%, 8.57% and 8.27% respectively.

Percentage Losers

Consolidated Hallmark Insurance, Glaxosmith and Oando among other price decliners shed their share prices by 10%, 9.52% and 9.09% respectively.

Volume Drivers

Zenith Bank traded about 22.5 million units of its shares in 277 deals, valued at N416.4 million.
