Nigerian Bourse gains N6bn, closes 0.05% higher, Thursday

Trading activities on the floor of the Nigeran Stock Exchange on Thursday closed in green as the All Share Index grew marginally by 0.05% to close at 31,984.60 points against the previous close of 31,969.79 points on Wednesday.

Market capitalization grew by 0.05% to close at N11.677 trillion against the previous close of N11.671 trillion, implying a gain of N6 billion.

Volume and value of traded stocks grew by 182.89% and 334.36%, closing at N672.56 million and N15.22 billion respectively.

Market Breadth

Market Breadth closed positive as 16 stocks gained while 13 stocks lost

Percentage Gainers

Flour Mills led other percentage gainers, closing 9.95% above its previous close of N18.6, to settle at N20.45.

Consolidated Hallmark Insurance Plc, Union Diagnostics, PZ and Prestige Assurance grew 8.57%, 8.0%, 7.78% and 7.46% respectively among other percentage gainers.

Percentage Losers

Ikeja Hotel tops the losers’ chart, shedding 9.76% of its share price to close at N1.85 from the previous close of N2.05.

Jaiz Bank, Law Union & Rock Insurance and AG Lentis , all shedding 8.89%, 8.77% and 8.33% respectively among others on the decliners’ list.

Volume Drivers 

Zenith Bank traded about 605.54 million units of its shares in 176 deals, valued at about N14.53 billion
