Nigerian Bourse gains N66bn as NSEASI grew 0.56%, Tuesday

The Nigerian Bourse on Tuesday closed in green as the All Share Index grew 0.56%, closing at 32,381.00 points from the previous close of 32,201.98 points on Monday.

Market capitalisation appreciated by 0.56% to close at N11.822 trillion from the previous close of N11.756 trillion, implying a gain of N66 billion

Other market indicators appreciated as volume and value of traded stocks grew by 67.94% and 23.32%, closing at 269.82 million units and N2.69 billion respectively.

Market Breadth

The market breadth closed positive as 27 stocks gained while 18 stocks lost.

Percentage Gainers

First Aluminium Nigeria Plc led other percentage gainers, closing 10% above its previous close of N0.3 to settle at N0.33

Prestige Assurance grew 9.62% to close at N0.57 from the previous close of N0.52.

Royal Assurance Plc, Unity Bank, Union Diagnostics and Union Bank grew 9.52%, 9.41%, 9.37% and 9.00% respectively among others.

Percentage Losers

Red Star Express tops the losers’ chart losing 9.09% of its share price to close at N4.5 from the previous close of N4.95

Cornerstone Insurance and Standard Alliance Insurance both shed 8.7% respectively among others on the losers’ chart.

Volume Drivers

  • Access Bank traded about 84.95 million units of its shares in 124 deals, valued at about N679.77 million
  • Zenith Bank traded about 16.43 million units of its shares in 330 deals, valued at about N338.36 million
