Nigerian Bourse gains N44bn, closes 0.34% higher, Tuesday

The Nigerian Bourse on Tuesday closed in green as the All Share Index grew by 0.34% to close at 30,718.72 points from the previous close of 30,614.73 points on Monday.

Market Capitalisation grew by 0.39%, closing at N11.221 trillion from the previous close of N11.177 trillion, thereby gaining N44 billion.

Aggregate volume of traded stocks grew by 30.86%, closing at 215.38 million units against the previous close of 164.58 million units on Monday.

Value of traded stocks grew by 103.96%, closing at N3.4 billion against the previous close of N1.67 billion on Monday.

Industrial, Consumer Goods and Oil & Gas sectors closed higher by 0.66%, 0.58% and 0.10% respectively; while Insurance and Banking sectors declined by 0.35% and 0.09% respectively.

Market Breadth

The market breadth closed positive as 23 stocks gained against 16 stocks that lost.

Percentage Gainers

Veritas Kapital with 9.52% growth tops the percentage gainers’ chart, closing at N0.23 from the previous close of N0.21

Law Union & Rock Insurance, UACN, Wema Bank and Cadbury grew 8.51%, 6.45%, 5.56% and 5.29% respectively. Flour Mills, Japaul Oil and Regency Alliance each grew 5.0% respectively among other gainers of the day.

Dangote Sugar, Dangote Flour and Dangote Cement gained 3.33%, 0.79% and 0.71% to close at N13.95, N6.35 and N185.5 respectively

Percentage Losers

C & I Leasing tops the losers’ chart, shedding 9.79% of its share price to close at N1.75 against the previous close of N1.94

Prestige Assurance, Diamond Bank and ABC Transport shed 8.51%, 7.77%, and 7.41% of their share prices respectively among others on the losers’ chart.

Volume Drivers

  • Zenith Bank traded about 58.3 million units of its shares valued at N1.346 billion in 313 deals.
