Nigerian Bourse gains N29bn as ASI closes 0.22% higher, Thursday

Trading activities on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange on Thursday closed in green as the All Share Index grew by 0.22%, closing at 36,427.22 points from the previous close of 36,346.80 points.

Market capitalisation appreciated by 0.22%, closing at N13.196 trillion from the previous close of N13.167 trillion, thereby gaining about N29 billion.

Volume and value of traded stocks dropped by 48.10% and 18.34%, closing at 171.2 million units and N2.98 billion respectively.

Market Breadth

The market breadth is balance as 20 stocks closed positive as against 20 that lost.

Percentage Gainers

Honeywell Flour led other percentage gainers closing 9.88% above the previous close of N1.72 to settle at N1.89.

Cutix Plc, AIICO Insurance, Livestock Feeds and FCMB grew 9.77%, 9.68%, 9.52% and 9.44% respectively ahead other stocks on the gainers’ chart.

Percentage Losers

NEIMETH tops the percentage losers’ chart, losing 9.30% of its share price to close at N0.39 from the previous close of N0.43.

Wapic, Custodian Investment, UAC Properties and AG Leventis also shed 9.09%, 8.85%, 8.82% and 8.7% respectively.

Volume Drivers

Zenith Bank traded about 30.28 million units of it shares in 343 deals, worth about N717.2 million.
