Nigerian Bourse dips further, closes 0.84% lower

Trading activities on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange on Thursday closed on a negative note as the All Share Index declined by 0.84% to close at 27,085.69 points against the previous close of 27,314.87 points on Wednesday.

The market capitalization closed at N13.185 trillion, shedding N112 billion from the previous close of N13.297 trillion.

Aggregate volume of traded stocks closed at 151.2 million units, valued at N2.52 billion in 2,895 deals.

Market Breadth

The market breadth closed negative as 12 stocks gained while 18 stocks declined in their share prices.

Percentage Gainers

Niger Insurance tops gainers list with 10.00% growth, closing at N0.22 from the previous close of N0.20 it traded last. This is followed by Neimeth, Caverton and Ecobank, gaining 9.09%, 8.33% and 8.28% respectively.

Percentage Losers

Nestle Nigeria, Beta Glass and Courteville among other price decliners shed their share prices by 9.99%, 9.96% and 9.09% respectively.

Volume Drivers

Guaranty Trust traded about 44.62 million units of its share, valued at N1.24 billion in 245 deals.
