Nigerian Bourse closes lower by 0.15%, sheds N19bn

The Nigerian stock market on Friday closed on a negative note as the All Share Index declined by 0.15% to settle at 25,199.84 points against the previous close of 25,236.97 points.

Market Capitalisation closed at N13.146 trillion, down by 0.14% from the previous close of N13.165 trillion, thereby shedding N19 billion.

An aggregate of 482.5 million units of shares were traded in 3,897 deals, valued at N4.52 billion.

Market Breadth

The Market Breadth closed negative as 11 equities gained against 23 equities that declined in their share prices.

 

Percentage Gainers

C&I Leasing led other percentage gainers with 10% growth, closing at N4.40 from the previous close of N4.00.

LASACO and Fidson Healthcare among other gainers also grew their share prices by 8.33% and 4.82% respectively.

 

Percentage Losers

Northern Nigerian Flour Mills (NNFM) led other price decliners as it shed 10% of its share price to close at N3.87 from the previous close of N4.30.

Arbico Plc, International Breweries and Ikeja Hotel among other price decliners also shed their share prices by 9.35%, 8.06% and 7.69% respectively.

 

Volume Drivers

  • Wapic Insurance traded about 101.09 million units of its shares in 30 deals, valued at N33.36 million.
  • Unilever traded about 67.67 million units of its shares in 56 deals, valued at N848.49 million.
  • Zenith Bank traded about 58.05 million units of its shares in 526 deals, valued at N969.36 million.
