Nigerian Bourse closes 0.82% lower, Wednesday

The Nigerian Equities market on Wednesday closed on a negative note as the all share index declined further by 0.82% to close at 27,083.11 points against the previous close of 27,306.81 points last week Friday.

Market capitalisation closed at N13.198 trillion, shedding N109 billion from the previous close of N13.307 trillion.

Volume of traded stocks closed at 235.12 million units, valued at N3.29 billion in in 3,922 deals.

Market Breadth

The market breadth closed negative as 4 stocks gained, while 27 stocks declined in their share prices.

Percentage Gainers

At the close of trade today, only four stocks emerged on the gainers’ list which include:  Continental Reinsurance (4.32%), Custodian Investment Plc (3.33%), Africa Prudential Plc (1.41%) and Union Bank of Nigeria (0.74%).

Percentage Losers

UACN led the price decliners’ list, shedding 10% of its share price to close at N4.95 from the previous close of N5.50.

NPF Microfinance Bank, and Flour Mills of Nigeria among other price decliners shed their share prices by 9.32% and 8.50% respectively.

Volume Drivers

 

Guaranty Trust Bank traded about 49.8 million units of its shares in 363 deals, valued at N1.3 billion.
