Nigerian Bourse closes 0.26% lower, Friday

The Nigerian stock market on Friday closed on a negative note as the All Share Index declined by 0.26% to close at 28,067.09 points against the previous close of 28,140.41 points on Thursday.

 

The Market capitalisation grew by 0.83% to close at N14.618 trillion, from the previous close of N14.497 trillion on Thursday.

 

 

Aggregate volume of traded stocks closed at 303.9 million units, down by 4.18%, from the previous close of 317 million units.

The value of traded stocks was up by 86.19%, closing at N6.39 billion away from the previous close of N3.43 billion.

Total number of deals at the close of trade was 4,243 down by 2.42% from the previous close of 4,340 deals.

 

Market Breadth

The Market Breadth closed negative as 16 stocks gained while 18 stocks declined in their share prices.

 

Percentage Gainers

Japaul Oil led other percentage gainers with 10% growth to close at N0.22 from the previous close of N0.20.

Law Union & Rocks Insurance, Livestock Feeds and Honeywell Flour among other gainers also grew their share prices by 9.90%, 9.09% and 7.84% respectively.

Percentage Losers

Trans nationwide Express and C&I Leasing both led the price decliners, shedding 10% of their share prices to close at N0.81 and N5.40 respectively.

NPF Microfinance Bank, Neimeth and Eterna Oil among other price others also shed their share prices by 9.68%, 9.09% and 8.51% respectively.

 

Volume Drivers

  • Guaranty Trust Bank traded about 76.8 million units of its shares in 305 deals, valued at N2.27 billion.
  • Zenith Bank traded about 58.6 million units of its shares in 704 deals, valued at N1.16 billion.
