Nigerian Bourse closes 0.14% lower, Thursday

Trading activities on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange on Thursday closed in red as the All Share Index declined marginally by 0.14% to close at 32,568.66 points against the previous close of 32,614.05 points on Wednesday.

Market capitalisation closed at N12.145 trillion, shedding about N17 billion from the previous close of N12.162 trillion.

Aggregate volume and value of traded stocks closed at 220.6 million units and N2.24 billion respectively in 4,327 deals.

Market Breadth

The market breadth closed positive as 21 stocks gained against 15 stocks that lost.

Percentage Gainers

Ikeja Hotel with 9.94% growth led other percentage gainers to close at N1.99 from the previous close of N1.81. This is followed by ABC Transport and UAC Property both gaining 8.33% to close at N0.52 and N1.82 respectively.

Percentage Losers

Linkage Assurance tops the losers’ chart shedding 10% of its share price. This is followed by International Breweries, Neimeth and Mutual Benefit Assurance shedding 9.48%, 8.57% and 7.41% respectively.

Volume Drivers

  • Guaranty Trust Bank traded about 16.53 million units of its shares valued at about N630.23 million in 280 deals.
  • Zenith Bank traded about 15.67 million units of its shares valued at about N402.2 million in 483 deals.
