Market Declines as NGXASI Closes 0.83% Lower

Activities on the floor of Nigerian Stock Exchange on Monday declined as the All-Share Index closed 0.83% lower to settle at 49,950.32 compared with 50,370.25 recorded on last Friday.

The market capitalisation dropped by N227 billion or 0.84% to close at N26.936 trillion from N25.218 trillion recorded in the previous session.

Aggregate volume and value of traded stocks settled at 176 million units and N2.27 billion in 4,965 deals. 

Market Breadth

Market Breadth closed positive as 21 stocks gained against 14 stocks that declined in their share prices at the end of the day’s trading

Percentage Gainers

CAVERTON and COURTVILLE led the gainers chart with 10.00% growth each to close at N1.10 and N0.44 from the previous close of N1.00 and N0.40 respectively.

Champion Breweries, Unity Bank, and Livestock Feeds also made it to the green table, gaining 9.59%, 9.30% and 8.70% respectively.

Percentage Losers

BUA Cement tops the price decliners’ list, shedding 9.96% of its share price to close at N62.40 from N69.30.

Still on the red table are; MCNICHOLES, NEIMETH and International Breweries, shedding 9.89%, 9.68% and 6.54% respectively, ahead of other price decliners.

Volume Drivers

GTCO traded about 21.4 million units of its shares in 487 deals, valued at about N426.8 million.

Zenith Bank traded about 20 million units of its shares in 475 deals, valued at about N429 million.

ACCESSCORP traded about 16.8 million units of its shares in 176 deals, valued at about N149 million.
