Investors gain N70bn as stock market advances by 0.27%

The Nigerian Exchange on Thursday closed on a positive note as the All Share Index grew by 0.27% to close at 47,286.34 points from the previous close of 47,157.23 points.

Investors gained N70 billion as the Market Capitalisation grew by 0.28% to close at N25.481 trillion from the previous close of N25.411 trillion.

An aggregate of 198 million units of shares were traded in 4,294 deals, valued at N3.41 billion.

The Market Breadth closed positive as 30 equities emerged as gainers against 9 equities that declined in their share prices.

Percentage Gainers

Guinness led the gainers chart with 10% growth, closing at N55 from the previous close of N50.

Total Energies and UPDC also grew their share prices by 9.92% and 9.90% respectively.

Percentage Losers

Veritas Kapital Assurance led other price decliners as it shed 4.35% of its share price to close at N0.22 from the previous close of N0.23.

Union Bank and Ikeja Hotel among other price decliners also shed their share prices by 3.20% and 2.74% respectively.  

Volume Drivers

Chams Plc traded about 16.74 million units of its shares in 22 deals, valued at N3.52 million.

Transcorp traded about 15.38 million units of its shares in 122 deals, valued at N17.82 million.

Access Bank traded about 14.29 million units of its shares in 250 deals, valued at N149.46 million.
