Investors gain N6bn as NGXASI inches up by 0.02%

The Nigerian equity market on Thursday closed on a positive note asThe All Share Index appreciated by 0.02% to close at 52,626.42 points from the previous close of 52,615.51 points.

Investors gained N6 billion as the Market Capitalisation grew by 0.02% to close at N28.664 trillion from the previous close of N28.658 trillion.

An aggregate of 129 million units of shares were traded in 3,183 deals, valued at N1.8 billion.

The Market Breadth closed positive as 25 equities appreciated in their share prices against 16 equities that declined in their share prices.

Percentage Gainers

International Energy Insurance led other gainers with 9.76% growth, closing at N0.45 from the previous close of N0.41.

CWG, CAVERTON and JOHNHOLT among other gainers also grew their share prices by 9.47%, 9.38% and 9.09% respectively.

Percentage Losers

C & I Leasing led other price decliners as it shed 10.00% of its share price to close at N3.15 from the previous close of N3.50.

CHAMS and Sovereign Trust Insurance among other price decliners also shed their share prices by 7.14% and 7.14% respectively.

Volume Drivers

GTCO traded about 18.5 million units of its shares in 274 deals, valued at N451 million.

UBA traded about 9.7 million units of its shares in 154 deals valued at N78.6 million.

Zenith Bank traded about 18.6 million units of its shares in 323 deals, valued at N455.7 million.
