Investors gain N53bn as NSEASI inches up by 0.41%, Monday

The Nigerian equities market on Monday closed on a positive note as the All Share Index rose by 0.41% to close at 26,401.06 points from the previous close of 26,293.30 points on Friday.

Market Capitalisation closed at N12.852 trillion, gaining N53bn, from the previous close of N12.799 trillion on Friday.

Aggregate volume of traded stocks closed at 368.18 million units, valued at N2.77 billion in 3,473 deals.

 

Market Breadth

The Market Breadth closed positive as 18 stocks gained while 13 stocks declined in their share prices.

Percentage Gainers

Champions Breweries led 17 other stocks with 10% growth to close at N0.99 from the previous close of N0.90.

Honeywell Flour, UBA, Fidelity Bank and NAHCO among other gainers also grew their share prices by 9.47%, 8.62%, 6.86% and 6.38% respectively.

Percentage Losers

Fidson Healthcare led other price decliners, shedding 10% of its share price to close at N3.6 from the previous close of N4.0

Unilever, International Breweries, Capital Hotel and MRS among others also shed their share prices by 9.93%, 9.92%, 9.84% and 9.73% respectively.

 

Volume Drivers

  • Access Bank traded about 80.57 million units of its shares in 487 deals, valued at N650 million.
