Investors gain N37bn as market advances by 0.28%

The Nigerian equity market on Friday closed on a positive note as the All Share Index appreciated further by 0.28% to close at 25,591.95 points from the previous close of 25,520.97 points on Thursday.

Investors gained N37 billion as Market Capitalisation, appreciated by 0.28% to close at N13.351 trillion from the previous close of N13.314 trillion.

An aggregate of 212.73 million units of shares were traded in 3,239 deals, valued at N2.278 billion.

Market Breadth

The market breadth closed positive as 19 stocks gained while 18 stocks declined in their share prices.

Percentage Gainers

NPF Microfinance Bank led other gainers with 8.66% growth, closing at N1.38 from the previous close of N1.27.

Union Diagnostics, Royal Exchange and Eterna Plc among other gainers also grew their share prices by 8.00%, 7.69% and 7.63% respectively.

Percentage Losers

Ardova Plc led other price decliners as it shed 9.92% of its share price to close at N11.35 from the previous close of N12.60.

CAP Plc and Consolidated Hallmark Insurance among other price decliners also shed 9.74% and 9.38% respectively.

Volume Drivers

  • Custodian Investment traded about 63.1 million units of its shares in 43 deals, valued at N302.89 million
  • Zenith Bank traded about 17.73 million units of its shares in 343 deals, valued at N303.57 million.
  • Guinness Nigeria traded about 13.69 million units of its shares in 107 deals, valued at N185.08 million.
