Investors gain N23bn as stock market advances by 0.10%

The Nigerian Exchange on Monday closed on a positive note, occasioned by gain in the share prices of BUA Foods and Dangote Cement by 9.96% and 4% respectively.

The All Share Index appreciated by 0.1% to close at 43,897.13 points from the previous close of 43,854.42 points.

Investors gained N23 billion as the Market Capitalisation grew by 0.10% to close at N23.651 trillion from the previous close of N23.628 billion.

An aggregate of 311.26 million units of shares were traded in 5,159 deals, valued at N8.64 billion.

28 equities emerged as gainers against 19 equities that shed their share prices, bringing the Market Breadth to a positive close.

Percentage Gainers

BUA Foods led other gainers as it grew its share price by 9.96% to close at N58.50 from the previous close of N53.20.

MRS and PZ among other gainers also grew their share prices by 9.72% and 8.53% respectively.

Percentage Losers

Northern Nigerian Flour Mills (NNFM) led other price decliners as it shed 9.66% of its share price to close at N6.55 from the previous close of N7.25.

Union Bank and Red Star Express among other prices decliners also shed their share prices by 6.90% and 6.38% respectively.

Volume Drivers

BUA Foods traded about 101.36 million units of its shares in 152 deals, valued at N5.93 billion.

Transcorp traded about 51.22 million units of its shares in 173 deals, valued at N50.21 million.

Zenith Bank traded about 12.13 million units of its shares in 361 deals, valued at N308.63 million.
