Investors gain N145bn as NSEASI inches up by 1.09%

Trading activities on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange closed on a positive note as the All Share Index rose by 1.09% to close at 27,579.85 points from the previous close of 27,283.05 points on Wednesday.

Market capitalisation closed at N13.426 trillion, gaining N145 billion from the previous close of N13.281 trillion.

Aggregate volume of traded stocks closed at 183.47 million units, valued at N2.93 billion in 2,576 deals.

Market Breadth

The market breadth closed positive as 16 stocks gained, while 7 stocks declined in price.

Percentage Gainers

Nestle, Seplat and Total Plc led the gainers chart with 10% growth each to close at N1336.50, N506 and N110 respectively.

Continental Reinsurance grew its share price by 9.88% to close at N1.89 from the previous close of N1.72. Cornerstone Insurance and NEM insurance among others both gained 9.52% to  N0.46 and N2.3 respectively.

Percentage Losers

Forte Oil led the price decliners, shedding 6.78% of its share price to close at N15.80 from the previous close of N16.95.

Honeywell Flourmills and Custodian Investment Plc among others also shed their share prices by 5.94% and 4.76% respectively.

Volume Drivers

  • Access Bank traded about 67.32 million units of its shares in 389 deals, valued at about N509.8 million.
  • Nigerian Breweries traded about 23.16 million units of its shares in 278 deals, valued at about N651.7 million.
