Guinness Nigeria led 16 other gainers as NSEASI rose by 0.60%

The Nigerian stock market on Monday closed on a positive note as the All Share Index rose by 0.60% to close at 26,695.18 points from the previous close of 26,536.21 points on Friday.

 

  • Market Capitalisation closed at N12.884 trillion, gaining N76 billion from the previous close of N12.808 trillion on Friday.
  • Volume of traded stocks was up by 9.77%, closing at 170.52 million units away from the previous close of 155.35million units.
  • The value of traded stocks rose by 43.21% to close at N2.05 billion in 2,700 deals.

 

Market Breadth

The market breadth closed positive as 17 stocks gained while 8 stocks declined in their share prices.

Percentage Gainers

  • Guinness Nigeria with 9.83% growth led 16 other gainers to close at N32.40 from the previous close of N29.50.
  • PZ, A.G Leventis and UBA among others also grew their share prices by 9.52%, 7.69% and 6.06% respectively.

 

Percentage Losers

Cornerstone Insurance and Neimeth both led the price decliners, shedding 9.09% of their share prices respectively.

 

Volume Drivers

  • Access Bank traded about 41.16 million units of its shares in 280 deals, valued at N396.95 million.
  • Zenith Bank traded about 25.59 million units of its shares in 374 deals, valued at N479.8 million.
