Equities market maintains uptrend as investors gain N112bn

Trading activities on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange on Tuesday, being the last trading day of the year, closed on a positive note. The All Share Index rose by 0.87%, closing at 26,842.07 points away from the previous close of 26,609.34 points on Monday.

Market capitalisation closed at N12.958 trillion, gaining N112 billion from the previous close of N12.846 trillion on Monday.

Aggregate volume of traded stocks closed at 1.05 billion units, valued at N5.496 billion in 2,445 deals.

 

Market Breadth

The market Breadth closed positive as 24 stocks gained while 13 stocks declined in their share prices.

 

Percentage Gainers

Seplat, Vita Foam and Mansard led the gainers chart with 10% growth respectively.

Glaxosmith, Cornerstone Insurance, Wapco, C&I Leasing and Eterna Plc among other gainers also grew their share prices by 9.91%, 9.76%, 9.29%, 9.26% and 9.09% respectively.

 

Percentage Losers

UDPC Real Estate Investment Trust, Cutix Plc and LASACO among other price decliners shed their share prices by 9.57%, 8.28% and 7.41% respectively.

Volume Drivers

Omoluabi Mortgage Bank traded about 796.45 million units of its shares in only 1 deal, valued at about N438 million.

Access Bank traded about 47.3 million units of its shares in only 140 deals, valued at about N471 million.
