Dangote Cement led 28 other gainers as equities market rises by 3.12%

Transactions on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange on Tuesday closed on a positive note as the All Share Index rose further by 3.12% to settle at 23,809.31 points from the previous close of 23,089.86 points on Monday.

Investors gain N375 billion as market capitalisation grew by 3.12% to close at N12.408 trillion from the previous close of N12.033 trillion.

Aggregate volume of about 345 million units of stocks were traded in 4,689 deals, valued at N4.25 billion.

Market Breadth

The market breadth closed positive as 29 equities appreciated in their share prices while 7 equities declined in their share prices.

Percentage Gainers

Dangote Cement led other percentage gainers with 10% growth, closing at N143 from the previous close of N130. This is followed by Neimeth International Pharmaceutical Plc with 9.26% growth, closing at N0.59 from the previous close of N0.54.

UAC Properties and Prestige Assurance among other gainers both grew their share prices by 9.09% to close at N0.84 and N0.60 respectively.

Percentage Losers

May & Baker led other price decliners, shedding 10% of its share price to close at N2.43 from the previous close of N2.70.

NPF Microfinance Bank and Linkage Assurance among other price decliners also shed their share prices by 9.60% and 9.43% respectively.

Volume Drivers

Guaranty Trust Bank traded about 54.29 million units of its shares in 451 deals, valued at N1.14 billion.

Mutual Benefit Assurance traded about 41.79 million units of its shares in 48 deals, valued at N9.02 million.

Zenith Bank traded about 40.31 million units of its shares in 597 deals, valued at N591 million.
