C&I Leasing leads gainers as market returns -0.08%

Transactions on the floor of the Nigerian Exchange on Tuesday closed on a negative note as the All Share Index depreciated by 0.08% to close at 38,256.76 points from the previous close of 38,287.58 points.

The Market Capitalisation declined by 0.08% to close at N19.940 trillion from the previous close of N19.956 trillion, thereby shedding N16 billion.

An aggregate of 239.894 million units of shares were traded in 3,443 deals, valued at N1.509 billion.

The Market Breadth closed negative as 12 equities appreciated in their share prices against 17 equities that declined in their share prices.

Percentage Gainers

  • C&I Leasing led other gainers with 9.85% growth to close at N4.46 from the previous close of N4.06.
  • Royal Exchange Plc and Consolidated Hallmark Insurance among other gainers also grew their share prices by 8.82% and 7.27% respectively.

Percentage Losers

  • LASACO led other price decliners as it shed 7.14% of its share price to close at N1.43 from the previous close of N1.54.
  • Champion Breweries and AIICO Insurance among other price decliners also shed their share prices by 5.66% and 4.96% respectively.

Volume Drivers

  • Courtville Business Solution traded about 36.85 million units of its shares in 56 deals, valued at N7.47 million.
  • Zenith Bank traded about 28.2 million units of its shares in 275 deals, valued at N649.4 million.
  • Jaiz Bank traded about 25.85 million units of its shares in 58 deals, valued at about N14.83 million.
