Bullish trend persists as stock market gains N609bn in one week

Trading on the floor of the Nigerian stock market last week closed bullish as most of the high cap stocks closed the week higher, thereby gaining N609 billion, week on week.

The All Share Index and Market capitalization grew by 0.99% to settle at 102,133.30 points and N61.912 trillion respectively. Year to date, the market has returned 36.59%.

An aggregate of 1.39 billion units of shares were traded in 33,410 deals, valued at N52 billion.

The market breadth closed positive as 64 stocks gained against 20 stocks that declined in their share prices.

TOP 10 GAINERS

Ikeja Hotel led other gainers in the course of last week with 32.79% growth, closing at N1.71 from the previous close of N1.90.

MULTIVERSE, PZ, Universal Insurance and Royal Exchange grew their share prices by 32.61%, 26.09%, 25.00% and 24.66% respectively.

Other top 10 gainers include: Prestige Assurance 23.46%, MRS 21.00%, Sky Aviation 20.75%, JOHNHOLT 20.58% and SUNU Assurance 20.03% respectively.

TOP 10 LOSERS

THOMASWYAT led other price decliners, shedding 10.00% of its share price to close at N0.25 from the previous close of N0.30.

ARADEL, AUSTINLAZ, DAAR COMMUNICATION and NEIMETH grew their share prices by 9.64%, 9.29%, 6.45% and 5.00% respectively.

Other price decliners include: Livestock (4.88%), HMCALL (4.40%), NASCON (4.32%), NASCON (3.23%) and OANDO (3.09%) respectively.
