Bear dominates again as market closes 0.02% lower, Wednesday

The Nigerian Bourse declined again, making it three straight losses in the month of December as the All Share Index settled at 0.02% lower, closing at 26,938.58 points below Tuesday’s close of 26,944.32 points.

Market capitalization dipped by N3 billion, implying a decline of 0.02% to settle at N13.002 trillion as against N13.005 trillion of the last trading session.

Volume and value of traded stocks dropped by 40.27% and 62.65% to settle at 112 million units and N1 billion respectively.

Market Breadth

16 stocks closed positive against another 13 that lost bringing the market breadth to a positive breadth.

Percentage Gainer

Japauloil led gainers chart, closing at 10.00% above the previous close of N0.20 to settle at N0.22

May & Baker grew 9.74% and NEM grew 5.26% ahead of other 13 stocks that gained.

Percentage Losers

Sterling Bank tops the losers’ chart losing 6.34% of its share price, while CHAMS and FCMB shed 5.71% and 3.23% respectively.

Volume Drivers

Zenith Bank traded about 15 million units of its shares in 369 deals, worth about N296 million
