Nigerian Bourse sheds N41bn as ASI declines further by 0.16%

It was yet another bearish session onthe floor of the Nigerian equity market as the All Share Index declined again by 0.16% to close at 47,203.39 points against the previous close of 47,279.92 points last Friday.

The market capitalisation closed at N25.436 trillion, down by 0.16% from N25.477 trillion recorded in the last session.

Aggregate volume of trade at end of today’s session grew by 26.49% to 285.4 million units 5,342 deals, valued at N5.1 billion.

Market Breadth

The market breadth closed balanced as 23 stocks gained against 23 that declined in their share prices.

Percentage Gainers

Sunu Assurance with 10.00% growth, led the gainers to close at N0.33 from the previous close of N0.30.

SCOA and Prestige Assurance among other gainers also grew their share prices by 9.60% and 7.14% respectively.

Percentage Losers

Okomu Oil, NEM Insurance and Guinea Insurance among others 20 stocks shed their share prices by 10.00%, 9.61% and 9.09% respectively.

Volume Drivers

GTCO traded about 44.9 million units of its shares in 362 deals, valued at about N1.2 billion.

Transcorp traded about 23.6 million units of its shares in 171 deals, valued at about N27 million.

Fidelity Bank traded about 23 million units of its shares in 147 deals, valued at N66 million.
