Stock market closes lower by 0.01%, sheds N3bn

The Nigerian stock market on Tuesday closed on a bearish note as the All Share Index declined by 0.01% to close at 38,858.99 points from the previous close of 38,864.33 points.

The Market Capitalisation declined by 0.01% to close at N20.246 trillion from the previous close of N20.249 trillion, thereby shedding N3 billion.

An aggregate of 526.3 million units of shares were traded in 3,535 deals, valued at N3.04 billion.

The Market Breadth closed negative as 14 equities emerged as gainers against 15 equities that declined in their share prices.

Percentage Gainers

Skyway Aviation led other gainers with 9.88% growth to close at N4.45 from the previous close of N4.05.

Wema Bank, Flour Mills and UCAP among other gainers also grew their share prices by 5.13%, 1.87% and 1.75% respectively.

Percentage Losers

AXA Mansard led other price decliners as it shed 9.70% of its share price to close at N2.70 from the previous close of N2.99.

Africa Prudential and Regency Assurance among other price decliners also shed their share prices by 8.59% and 6.82% respectively.

Volume Drivers

Honeywell Flour traded about 402.18 million units of its shares in 69 deals, valued at N1.528 billion.

UBA traded about 11.12 million units of its shares in 144 deals, valued at N82.70 million.

Transcorp traded about 9.47 million units of its shares in 64 deals, valued at N8.74 million.
